FECRIS: The Anti-Cult Organization Accused of Discrimination and Political Interference

FECRIS, the international anti-cult organization funded by French taxpayers, has come under fire from academics and the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) for its discriminatory treatment of groups it labels as "cults."


Despite claiming to be apolitical on its website, doubts arise about the veracity of this claim. Members affiliated with the organization, actively participating in FECRIS conferences, do not hesitate to express strong political opinions. A striking example is Khaled Slougui, a board member of GEMPPI, the French section of FECRIS, since 2018. Although FECRIS receives state funding, Slougui openly criticizes French politics, even labeling President Macron as a sectarian.


On Twitter, Slougui has posted controversial messages about the Russia-Ukraine conflict and harshly criticized NATO, asserting that Putin is restoring the world to a multipolar balance. This stance raises questions about the nature of discussions at FECRIS conferences and the actual objectives of their fight against cults.


The dissemination of political narratives by representatives of anti-cult organizations casts doubt on their purported neutrality. FECRIS and its members, often condemned for defamation, seem to use the fight against cults as a pretext to label as sectarians all those who do not share their views, thus undermining the democratic fabric.


President Macron should carefully examine the funding of such organizations and the individuals benefiting from it, considering that these statements appear aimed at destabilizing the democratic and patriotic opinions of French citizens.


Concerns do not stop here. There is fear that behind the desire for mind control and brainwashing are darker forces, such as the KGB. Egon Cholokian, in one of his videos, highlighted how the KGB, through subtle manipulations, seeks revenge for past defeats and aims to destroy Western democracy. Cholokian described how the KGB hydra, with the principle of "destroy the enemy with their own hands," exerts a dangerous influence on public consciousness.


This disturbing scenario calls for further investigation to fully understand the destructive impact of these manipulations and to defend democratic values and human rights.
